Laboratory studies in support of Martian and asteroid sample return missions pptx

Sample-return missions play a crucial role in astrobiology by providing access to pristine extraterrestrial materials which preserve chemical and mineralogical records that cannot be obtained through the analysis of meteorites. These samples offer unique insights into the origins and evolution of life in the Solar System and beyond.

Physics and chemistry of star formation in the outer Galaxy pdf

In this talk, I will briefly introduce myself and my academic background. I will then present the project I will be working on in the next three years at Arcetri. As part of the CHEMOUT (CHEMical complexity in star-forming regions in the OUTer Galaxy) project, I will provide a glimpse into our current activities and future plans, for the characterization of the outer part of the Milky Way.

Elisa Torrigiani Malaspina

Me and my research on the Milky Way's Satellites pdf

In this talk, I will introduce myself and outline the key steps that led me to pursue a PhD with the NEFERTITI group. I will also give a brief overview of my PhD project, which explores the nature and evolution of the Milky Way satellite galaxies.

Chi Yan Law

The “DRAMA” about star formation pdf

In this brief talk, I will introduce myself and share my journey in studying how stars form.

The impact of nuclear equations of state on extreme core-collapse supernovae pdf

The gravitational collapse of massive stars at the end of their lives leads to powerful supernova explosions. These events form new stellar-mass compact objects, regulate the dynamics of their host galaxies, and produce heavy elements that contribute to the chemical evolution of the Universe. The goal of our work is to quantify the impact of the nuclear equation of state used to model dense matter have on the multi-messenger emission, including neutrinos and gravitational waves.

The strange case of a Biotechnologist at Arcetri pdf

Come join us to understand why a biotechnologist from Padova ended up working on the possibility of photosynthesis on extrasolar planets and in the search for life on Mars!

Guided tours in Arcetri: status, future perspectives and how to contribute pdf

For many years, the Arcetri Observatory has been organizing a robust program of guided tours for the public. Thousands of primary and secondary school students, as well as adults, have visited the observatory, experiencing firsthand the research carried out in our institute and learning its history. In this brief talk, I will describe how this program is organized, highlighting its successes and challenges. I will also explain how and why anyone can contribute and, finally, outline possible future developments.
