Fasti - General Structure

The building blocks of Fasti are:

• The flexible waveform generator (SVB).
• The embedded computer system, acting as global controller.
• The serial bus for general set-up and control.
• The parallel input interface.
• The data conversion subsystem, composed by the CSA, the CAD and the BFD.
• The ASD which adapts the digital output of SVB to the detector levels.

The components of data handling section are:

The CSA

is meant to amplify and condition the analog signals from detector.

The CAD

is the analog to digital conversion board.

The BFD

is the FIFO buffer between the CAD and the parallel input interface.
