The configuration of Fasti-Nics will be:
- A fast (about 500Khz) analog to digital conversion, whit 16 bit
capabilities, implemented by means of 16 bit converters or 14 bit
converters and digital averaging/filtering.
- Analogic part designed to be a "connector level"
replacement for present day electronic.
- Fast (more than 2Msamples/sec) digital input board. That speed can be
reached by means of on board or external buffers.
- External protocol as near as possible to the present-day protocol
for Xnics program, for faster software upgrade.
- Form factor designed to fit in the present-day rack.
