I will overview a survey of 319 protostars in the Orion clouds with the Spitzer, Herschel, Hubble and ground based telescopes. This survey shows that the infall rates onto protostars decrease exponentially with time, that outflow mechanical luminosity closely tracks accretion luminosity, and that outflows are not the prime agents for halting accretion. I will discuss an ongoing study to determine the stellar birthline with near-IR spectra, and present new ALMA observations that show that mass infall is high asymmetric.
