Setup in the control rooms of the 1.23 and 2.2m telescopes on CA.

Dear FIRPO friends,

it is no longer necessary to setup the acquisition table in the
domes of the 1.2 and 2.2 telescopes. In fact, during the June run
VC and I have been able to setup everything in the "old" control
room of the 2.2m. The room is not used anymore, but it is still
possible to move the telescope from there (and to use a heater!).
Two 20 meter cables are sufficient and the noise is OK.

In the November run, LF and I have setup everything in the small room of the 1.23m dome. The main disadvantage is that if the B"uhne is up, it may effectively block the access door to the room: in this case it will be necessary to send the B. down again, at least partially. However, the advantages in terms of comfort (body temperature!) and communication between the two observers are enormous. Take care to run the BNC through the small opening above the door , which may be opened and allows the passage through the styrofoam insulation. Unfortunately, it is still necessary to go to the dome to input the coords and move the telescope, but we plan to bring a long extension cable in December so that this problem will be overcome in the future. A monitor with the telescope control display is already available in the room, so all the movements and the offsets can be followed from the control room.
Andrea
